If you do not intend to fully participate in the holiday spirit, yes.

This was the schedule last year. I expect it to be somewhat similar this year, though I need to verify the exact dates and see if there's some new things we may want to add or swap out.

It's Christmas. I don't short-shrift Christmas.

People appreciate the structure, in the end. It gets them out where otherwise they'd sit around and think, "we should..." but never do.

I see. I've never had a "structured" holiday, nor have I sat around and thought "I should," but...whatever you say, sweetheart. You're the boss.

What do we need?

Updated dates and locations to amend the schedule from last year. Julian took care of room reservations, again, for the parade, so we're set on that, and now that we've got the house, we're good for dinner, if we want to have it there.

I don't think we want to go all the way out to the castle, after the parade.

No, I think the traffic would not allow us to get out of New York very fast, unless Peter and I teleport everyone.

...We are not teleporting for Thanksgiving.

I have a feeling I have to go track down Julian now. ...Well, maybe not right now.

If you two are going to coordinate on the menu, probably. Grocery lists and such...Whatever the cooking things you do.

Though, ooh! Peter and I took that cooking class this year! We can help!

Yes, we're going to need to coordinate a lot. We're going to have to add more kid-friendly dishes too.

Oh, you should not have said that.

I like kid-friendly dishes. Fancy ones really don't belong on holiday tables.

But I want to help!

We'll have a nice mixture of both!

You'll be helping, don't worry about that!

Okay, speaking of slightly gourmet--I found the best sounding recipe for a pomegranate rosemary roasted turkey. I think we should do that this year.

Ooh, that sounds so good. Let's do that.

I've got a few dishes I want to try too, like sweet potatoes and glazed carrots. Does Beanie like carrots?

It looks amazing.

She seems to, yes. She loves sweet potatoes. I'm not sure if she can completely tell the difference, yet, as cooked carrots do always seem to be a little on the sweet side.

I found a maple corn bread dressing recipe, with cranberries, as well, but I don't think it will go with the turkey, even though cranberries and pomegranates do, usually. Maybe save it for Christmas.

We could always make it for Thanksgiving and tell everyone we're doing a trial run for Christmas?

Date: 2010-11-11 05:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] elementof-risk.livejournal.com
But it might clash...Although we could make one that doesn't...and set the spicier one to the side and say...try it and see what you think...
