Who defines what is good, Peter? Who decides, and where do we learn, if not from history? The Church? The Church is a political instrument, as it always has been, forcing it's version of morality with the whip or the flame, no matter which side of the line you are on. Is that good? Is it right to brand a woman because of her husband's accusations, because of a child who is different? What sort of "goodness" is that? And if that is what our religious leaders would do...where can we turn to find what is good? What is right?

History is all we have.

ooc: No worries! Though Adam missed Peter. *snugs him* I told him I was catching up on other things, too, and he could deal. ;-) And, err, sorry for his massively emo musings. He's been like that for a while now.
