It's going to see how well he manages to deal with the darkness in Adam. Because no matter how long they're together, he's never going to tame those impulses of Adam's. Since Adam's already got 250+ years on him, he's a bit more entrenched in his mind set than Jack might be. Also, Jack's not from the 17th century, but in a future where a lot more things are accepted and not repressed. Whether or not Adam bought into the religious mores of his time, he was still been exposed to it at a formative age. Kipling was right about the fact that if you gave him a child from ages infant - 5, they'd hold his beliefs. (I think it's Kipling.) So, at the start there's going to be a basic belief system that's going to be in conflict. Jack's pretty much in for the same kind of thing that Hiro's in for in the recreating_eden group.
