changehistory: (OOC/Can I keep him?)
Beautiful day, winding my way down beautiful mountain looking at the beautiful Lake. It was cold enough the snow was still powder, not slush, but warm enough that I wasn't at all cold. I nailed my turns, my parallels were tight, I even managed a few moguls.

And then an out of control snowboarder hit me from behind on a steep blue slope, knocking me down the mountain and slamming his board into my ribs.

The verdict: 4 broken ribs and a partially collapsed lung.

The treatment: Massive amounts of pain killers, rest, and making sure to not rest so much I don't at least wander a bit to be upright and moving. Nothing much else they can do for the ribs--they have to heal themselves and most important is that I keep taking deep breaths (thus massive painkillers, cause, um, breathing HURTS) to avoid pneumonia. The lung is more worrisome, but it's such a small collapse at the moment that the surgery to reinflate it would be more risky than letting it heal itself. But I have to be on watch for several things that mean the collapse has gotten worse.

So, um. Probably out of commission on plotty thngs for a few days, 'cause Bria + massive pain meds = cracky, scary, loopy girl. Crack, however, always welcome, if I'm not passed out. Which I feel about to do, my head is spinning so much.

Just another one of those "*SIGH*" things where for those threads I'm not tagging, it's not because I've lost interest or don't want to--they probably just require some thought and a response I just can't give right now while on narcotic pain killers. I haven't forgotten anyone. I'm not ignoring anyone.

I'm just having one of those weeks.

I've already said thank you for the first three sections, but I wanted to take a moment to thank every single person who nominated me or one of my muses in any category, but most especially in these last two, which owe more to me and my writing than to the fact that David Anders and Jonathan Firth are hot. ;-)

That you all are reading what I do and enjoying it means more to me than I can say at the moment (what with the pain meds--see previous post). I write because I cannot imagine doing otherwise, but I have always done it, as well, because I like to bring smiles to people's faces and share my enjoyment of the written word.

I am blessed with some fantastic writing partners and some magnificent support. Thank you to each and every one of you for everything you give to this crazy game we all play, and for thinking of me and my muses.

So much love.

Bria
