Adam dropped his money on the table as well, pulling his jacket back on as he stood, picking up his gloves and scarf from the seat next to him. He wasn't sure where, exactly, this was heading, and the uncertainty almost made his breath catch in his throat. He didn't say anything as he led the way out of the cafe with a tossed smile at the waitress. He came in often enough to almost be a regular, his cooking skills less than stellar, even after all this time.

Thirty years without the sun and wind seemed to have thinned his blood, making him cold most of the time in the winter. Maybe Hiro was right, and he should have gone somewhere warm.
