Apparently computers can get infected with viruses, which is just bizarre.

Apparently mine has.

I keep getting windows popping up with all sorts of things I have no interest in seeing, let alone hearing.

How do I make it stop?



ooc: Coming out of discussion with Angela where she attempted to explain safe internet surfing and safe sex at the same time, both of which baffled Adam to no end.

"That look?" Adam scowls. "Is not going to get me to watch the porn. I want it off my computer!"

"Why didn't you say so? I work for a computer company." He starts deleting programs, cookies and windows, then loads on anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and a firewall. Clears the cache and erases the history. "Now what were you looking for before you got all these viruses?"

Adam leans back, watching him. "I don't know specifically. I was researching popular culture. Trying to catch up on what I missed--movies, music, art I should try and see or listen to."

"American, Japanese, European? There are certain things that have crossed over many different cultures. Then there are the things popular only to certain cultures. Do you want to narrow it down a little?"

Adam shrugs a little, looking just a touch lost. "I was just...exploring. I've missed a lot."

"What was the last movie you saw?"

Adam makes a bit of a face. "As best I recall? The Spy Who Loved Me. In 1977."

"Oh, James Bond. What kinds of movies do you like?"

"I like James Bond." Which was obvious. "I like dramas more usually. Someone said I needed to see something called Star Wars, which I vaguely remember hearing about before I got locked up, but never made it to see. And apparently there are more Star Trek shows and movies out there. I liked the television show."

"There are more James Bond movies. And you have to see Star Wars and the Star Trek movies. I should make a list."

"Yes, I worked out that much." He gives Hiro an amused look. "You probably should...."

Hiro starts writing furiously on a piece of paper. "Do you like scary movies?"

"Like Hitchcock?"

"Hitchcock did 'The Birds', yes?"

"Yes," Adam said with a nod. "So....I like intelligently scary movies?"

Hiro writes some more. "What else do you like?"

Adam frowns a bit. "I don't know? I didn't watch that many of them. Always too busy."

"You can watch a lot of them on your computer or get DVDs and play them on your computer."

"Really?" Adam plopped down next to Hiro, studying the laptop.

Hiro nods. "Do you want to watch something now?"

"We could, I suppose...."

"What do you want to see first?" Hiro is pulling up his account, entering his information.

"Well, if this Star Wars is really something I should see..." Adam grins. "You did bring popcorn."

"Ok, 'Star Wars' it is." Hiro goes through his Netflix account favorites and starts downloading it. "It will take a few minutes. Let me pop this." He goes to the microwave and starts the popcorn.

Adam settles back on the couch, watching the computer warily like it might start popping porn up at him again.
