I'd been locked up for 30 years. It would not have happened had I not been.

And yet you trusted that woman with Nathan. She was the worst choice you could have made.

She was his mother, carp. Better her than allowing Arthur free reign with him, clearly.

Peter's father. Angela's husband. Or, he was.

He died.

Isn't he Nathan's father?

What happened?

Of course. Who else would be?

A heart attack, possibly. Or suicide. He was involved with some of Linderman's shadier dealings.

You didn't say that. You only said he was Peter's father.

Mr. Linderman was a bad man. At least I got the katana back.

Did I? Well, I know Peter so much better now than Nathan, who I haven't seen, except briefly, since he was a child. He is the Petrelli that comes to mind as our mutual friend.

Yes, yes he was. And I am grateful for that.

*Hiro is looking at him.* You're not telling me something.

I couldn't allow that man to keep it.

[identity profile] changehistory.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
*quietly* Leave it be, carp.

I'm glad. I'd rather you have it than him.

Nathan is my friend. What is it?

And now you have it.

It's nothing important.

Yes. Thank you.

*He's staring hard.* Tell me.

You're welcome.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] changehistory.livejournal.com 2007-12-27 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
*softly but firmly* No. I shouldn't have said anything at all. To say more would be to betray an oath, and I will not.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
*Hiro bows.* I understand. If you had told me that I would not have pushed.

*faint smile, slight return bow*

I generally have a reason when I say "no."

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I am not usually swayed by just a "no". I know you say "no" for a reason, but allow me the opportunity to understand why.

I shall remember that in the future.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
My sister does the same to me. Treats me like a child who can't understand.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] changehistory.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't mean to imply that at all. I just felt I had already said too much that would be counted against me.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
If you had told me to begin with that you were protecting someone's secret, I would have asked nothing further. I understand when people make a promise, especially when it comes to secrets.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] changehistory.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I suppose I was trying to tell you as much as I could in a spirit of not keeping secrets of my own, and then it wandered quickly into the parameters of someone else's.

Re: Locked to Hiro

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2007-12-28 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
*Hiro gives him a cocky smile.* You were being a smart ass. However, I understand. The matter is closed. I won't push you any more.

*arches an eyebrow, faint smile*

As you say.
